Ewell Smith is Executive Director for the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. He explains how his organization benefits the Louisiana seafood industry. Ewell emphasizes the importance of our restaurateurs and points out that they are valuable seafood ambassadors. He also recounts how Hurricane Katrina affected the seafood industry. When I inquired about Louisiana's seafood production Ewell said, "We are number one in crawfish, shrimp, crabs, and alligator and number two in fish, behind Alaska."
