Andreanica Morris works for Providence Community Housing, a non-profit real estate developer in New Orleans. Andreanica did this podcast interview on her day off; she was spending her free day volunteering for the Greater New Orleans Housing Alliance (GNOHA). GNOHA is a collaborative of non-profit housing builders and community development corporations working to rebuild the housing stock available in the City of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Andreanica points out that following the hurricane, “If you live in the city, you are paying more in housing cost…” She discusses the ten-year actionable plan that GNOHA has developed. Because GNOHA is not part of any city government agency, changes in city administration will not affect the plan. In this podcast, Andreanica also shares some interesting insights into the affordable housing situation in New Orleans.
