Anne Milling
Anne Milling founded Women of the Storm in January, 2006, three months after Hurricane Katrina. Anne explains why she began the organization and describes what it accomplished in those early years. Recently, Anne took 140 women from all along the Gulf Coast to Washington, D.C. to meet with Congressional members. The purpose of the group's visit was to ask for funding for Gulf Coast states for damages that resulted from British Petroleum's massive April, 2010 Gulf oil spill. Anne tells us she is most optimistic about the meetings and about the subsequent feedback she has received from the lawmakers. Anne also shares the group's plans for the future with us and gives information abut how women can get involved in this wonderful and significant organization: Women of the Storm.
