Bob Johnson is General Manager for the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. In this podcast, Johnson took a few minutes to talk about NOLA ChristmasFest at the Convention Center. When I inquired about the origins of the Fest, he noted that, “The Convention Center’s mission is to create demand for hotel rooms, restaurant covers, and generally promote tourism in the New Orleans area and the region, particularly in periods of low demand, which has traditionally been over the holiday period.” However, Johnson was quick to point out that NOLA ChristmasFest is not only for tourist. As with so many of New Orleans’ popular attractions and celebrations, the event will provide wonderful family entertainment for locals and visitors alike. Activities will feature the city’s only ice skating rink, and a 120-foot ice slide. The fourth annual NOLA ChristmasFest kicks off on Friday, December 16, 2016, and will continue through Friday, December 30, 2016.
