Bob Carr
Many locals know Bob Carr for his high-profile work on TV and radio in the ’60s and ’70s when he was a well-known personality on WDSU-TV and WWL-Radio. In this podcast, Bob talks about his early years at WDSU, the region’s first television station. Following his extensive on-air career, Bob decided to try his hand at writing. His first book, ”Raising Our Children On Bourbon: A French Quarter Love Affair”, chronicles his life raising his family in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Now, the author—who turned 90 years old in November— has just completed his second book about growing up during the Great Depression. "The Packard Limousine: A Boy's Journey During the Great Depression" recounts Bob’s experiences as he and his family weathered the dramatic downturn of fortunes during the Depression when, for a time, his family’s Packard automobile became the family’s home.
