Deidre Dee Brandon is Director of Shelter Operations for the New Orleans Women and Children’s Shelter (NOWCS). The Shelter is the city’s largest organization dedicated exclusively to providing services to homeless women and children in the area. In addition to shelter, NOWCS offers safety, stability, and educational tools and resources to women and children in need. The goal is to provide a full spectrum of services that include case management, personal development, daily living skills, and job training to bridge the gap between homelessness and self-sufficiency. November 11 - 19, 2017 is National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week and NOWCS has partnered with local restaurants that will donate a portion of their proceeds to this vital organization.
