The New Orleans Museum of Art is featuring a new exhibit called The Elegant Image, Bronzes from the Indian Subcontinent. Many pieces in the exhibit come from the collection of Dr. Siddharth Bhansali, who lives here in New Orleans. This is truly a unique exhibit. These bronze sculptures from the Jain, Hindu, and Buddhist spiritual traditions span centuries and never before has such a collection been gathered in one place. Dr. Pratapaditya is the curator of the exhibit; he describes what a curator's responsibilities are and explains the significance of some of the exhibit imagery.
