Greg Leighton is the owner of The New Orleans School of Cooking. This year, 2015, The New Orleans School of Cooking is celebrating its 35th anniversary. Greg describes the origins of the business and shares his plans for the future. As he explains: â€śOur mission statement is to share the fun, food, and folklore of New Orleans with the worldâ€ť.
According to Greg, the popular cooking classes take some of the mystery out of New Orleans food and at the same time, give visitors a history lesson about the cityâ€™s unique and distinctive cuisine. Recently, The New Orleans School of Cooking received a "Mission Main Street Grant" from Chase Bank and Greg talks about the importance of that grant. He also notes that although Hurricane Katrina did devastating damage to New Orleans, in some ways, it helped the city.
