Hugo Montero
Hugo Montero is owner of Casa Borrega. This unique restaurant is unlike any other Mexican restaurant in New Orleans, with its unique eclectic interior. To create the funky, colorful ambiance, Hugo and his wife assembled a mix of found objects from throughout New Orleans' many neighborhoods. The result is a memorable setting where Hugo, a native of Mexico, offers authentic Mexican fare: dishes that Mexicans eat in their native country. Mole sauce is one of the traditional Mexican offerings at Casa Borrega. Hugo explains the origins of Mole and describes how it is made. Listen as Hugo shares his perspectives about the cultural similarities between New Orleans and Mexico.
