John Hopper is Chief Development Officer and Director of Public Affairs for New Orleans City Park. In this podcast, John describes the enchanting China Lights exhibit in New Orleans Botanical Garden in City Park. He explains what was involved in setting up the exhibit, and he notes that communicating with the all-Chinese installation crew was not overly difficult. According to John, the dazzling exhibit includes 30 brilliantly-colored, silk-covered structures, plus hundreds of lanterns. Visitors will also encounter a glowing dragon 131-feet long, and a three-story, lit-from-within pagoda that towers so high that viewers can see it from almost any vantage point in the garden.
Although words are inadequate to describe these vibrant and exotic silk objects, John does his best to convey their dazzling beauty. The China Lights exhibit is open until May 1, 2016. For further information, go to neworleanscitypark.com/
