Marguerite
Green

Marguerite Green is the manager of the Press Street Gardens, located on the edge of the Faubourg Marigny. The Press Street Gardens is a project of The New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA) Institute. In this podcast, Marguerite talks about NOCCA's Press Street Station restaurant and explains how the garden produce is used in the restaurant: "We wanted to make sure our students knew how to cook straight from the garden, rather than using packaged or shipped in food." Marguerite describes the Gardens and shares information about how NOCCA is actively involved in the surrounding neighborhoods and with the entire City of New Orleans. On May 17, 2015, NOCCA will celebrate its 40th birthday. The birthday festivities will feature performances by Grammy Award winners Pedrito Martinez and Terence Blanchard, plus Jee Yeoun KO and Michael Pellera.
