Mike
McKenzie

Mike McKenzie is the owner of Sweet NOLA Cuisine, located near the corner of Earhart Boulevard and Carrollton Avenue. In 2010, in his position as Defensive Back, Mike helped the Saints win the team’s first Super Bowl. Today, he is helping New Orleanians achieve their healthy eating goals by offering healthy meals, with everything from salads and wraps, to pasta dishes. As Mike explains, “The basis of our menu is to provide you with a healthy, fast alternative." Mike wanted to offer healthy fast food take-out options, so he enlisted the help of Chef Jones, who had prepared meals for him while he was a Saint. Chefs who cook for athletes have to know how to prepare food that is healthy, nutritious, and delicious. Sweet NOLA Cuisine’s menu items look like dishes that belong in a sit-down restaurant; however, Mike explains that he is focused on take-out and catering business. The full menu offers appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. As Mike points out: “We all have a little sweet tooth in us!”
